| At The Rocket with Craig and Kalie |
Friday was surprisingly... quiet. Slept in again after going out the night before, which was absolutely fantastic. I swear, by Friday, all I want to do is sleep. And it was probably good that I got to, considering Kalie and I were hit by some viral plague that's been wrecking havoc on the house. And by that I mean a nasty cold. Which is just as heinous as a viral plague, because colds just make you miserable. We decided to battle the elements (yes, the sun took a... raincheck... and the rain arrived again. Sorry... couldn't help myself) and we went out with the guys for some food and food-shopping, considering a severe lack of things to eat in the fridge. Kalie and I split off, grabbed this delicious meat/onion/potto pastry from the tube station and ran to the market while the boys consumed their kebabs. After shopping, we headed back to the house and chilled in the room, as neither of us was feeling too hot. I went out for a fantastic dinner of fish and chips with the boys, then returned to the house and made it an early night with Kalie in hopes of sleeping off the nastiness that is this cold.
Saturday:
Woke up feeling a little bit better. No more sore throat, definitely battling off a cold now, but I've been chugging OJ and getting sleep, so hopefully it'll be gone by tomorrow. I dozed for a couple of hours until Imperial College (the giant London college by us) decided to start off their freshman weekend by blasting super loud music in the park outside our house. Oh well, waking up to "Fire Burning" and a British guy speaking into a microphone was kind of funny. I finally got moving, and then returned to my bed for a little How I Met Your Mother as opposed to studying (although I really need to hop on that, considering midterms are next week). Too bad we have no idea what to study.... Yeah, I'm going to work on figuring that one out later today. Right now (1:30 pm) Kalie's still passed out and recovering and I don't really have an energy to do anything other than sit on my bed and watch a few tv shows. Stupid cold. ....The rest of the day passed with little action. More tv, then went downstairs and read for a bit while eating dinner, then continued reading in the lounge area while some of our group played the most interminable game of Risk. I swear, it's got a lifespan comparable to Monopoly. I left around midnight, grabbed some medicine in hopes of knocking out this awful cold, and fell right back into the bed I stayed in most of today. Oh well, at least it was rainy and gloomy. Very fitting for today. Hopefully tomorrow will speed up a bit- it's Mexican food night, after all! Anyhow, time to crash to the sound of rain. I approve.

| Thursday: one of few beautiful days in London. |
So apparently I talked about Starburst in my sleep last night. Awesome. Glad to know that cold meds still make me slightly crazy. At least I didn't hallucinate this time. I woke up feeling a bit better- didn't have a voice for a few minutes, but water and a starburst remedied that (hey, it was noon, totally allowed to have candy). I swear, all I do is sleep when I'm sick. Obviously I need it though. Kalie's feeling better, too, so although her coughing and my sniffling make a most disturbing musical, hopefully we're both on the road to recovery here. We took the first part of the afternoon slow, then managed to get our bums in gear and headed out to Whole Foods to grab the ingredients for tortilla soup, because tonight is Mexican Food Night! Finally. I can't explain how much I've been craving mexican food. Anyhow, got back to the house and began the lovely-smelling process of creating tortilla soup with Kalie. I swear, I'm guarding that crock-pot with my life. While the soup was simmering away I actually sat down and did a little bit of homework. I feel really proud of myself. But really... this is a huge accomplishment. Anyhow, one of the guys made bomb carne asada which we "burrito-ized" with a bit of cheese, refried beans, and tortillas, then digested and went for the soup for round 2. I am in the best food coma of my life. But seriously, Sundays are becoming our group's family dinner nights. Best dinner I've had in a long time. Now... time to crack down and do some more studying for midterms. Ehh.
