Days 1-2: Round Two, Let's Go

An epic day of travel...

I swear, travel days completely mess my mind up, being they are actually a compilation of days, so it just throws everything off. I was up at 8 am on Friday to hit the gym and them run around Newport and finish up all my last minute packing and errands and such. By the time I was in the car to the airport, I was ready to be in London. I hate the stress of all that traveling nonsense, but luckily the airport was pretty quiet, so I guess that helped kill the whole "stress factor" of the situation. I said goodbye to my family, shocked that I was leaving already (because it really felt as though I had only been home for a couple days as opposed to an entire month), made it through security, and then found myself a Mexican food place to hang out in while I waited for my plane to board. And, of course, I had to get one last bit of Mexican food before hitting up London, where that food style is pretty much a foreign concept.

The plane ride itself wasn't too long, considering I had movies to watch. Of course, American Airlines wasn't the best way to go, and my seat parters consisted of a couple that had to get up every hour, together, and consequently wake me up every time they so desired to stretch their legs. So, that was... aggravating, to say in the least. I didn't get any sleep on that 10 hour ride. But, we finally landed in Heathrow, I got my bag, made it to the Underground, and hopped on the Piccadilly line back to South Kensington! After arriving at my home stop, I hauled that massive bag up and down some stairs, met up with some people from the house, and finally, FINALLY, made it back up to my room. There, the unpacking commenced, a little skyping with my mom, some chatting with friends downstairs, and then dinner and a drink at a pub with a few people in the group, which was a lot of fun. It was nice getting the social aspect back right away, and it was fun going out with a bunch of the new people and getting to know them as well.

Back at home, I finally got my shower, chatted a little more, and then decided that bed was probably a good idea when I saw midnight on the clock. 36 hours of being awake... oh goodness. My bed never felt so amazing.

The following day, I got to sleep in til a bit before 10 before someone began blasting opera and one of the guys in the room next door came bounding into the 6-girl room screaming spanish awakenings in an awful accent. Beautiful way to wake up. Please note the sarcasm. Anyhow, let's just say that the jetlag hit about 10 times harder today. I was TIRED. So, I slowly moved downstairs, grabbed breakfast, then pulled myself back upstairs to find medicine (damn cold that decided to set in the day of my departure. Awesome, that's exactly what I wanted and needed), chatted with the roomie for a bit, before she headed off to church. I debated on going to the gym, but then decided a movie seemed like a better idea because my head felt like it was in the clouds form the cold medicine (I love being a lightweight with meds... geez). Following my movie, my eyeballs were tired, so I decided to take a nap. I accidently forgot to set my alarm and slept from 3-6:30, but I obviously needed it. I woke up, chatted with the roomie (Jessica, I don't know if I mentioned her name yet), and then proceeded to do 200 out of my normal 500 or 1000 situps before changing my mind and relaxing again instead. Workouts can wait til tomorrow. Today was a lazy day and deserved to remain as such. So I skyped my family for a bit, listened to music, and went to bed early in preparation for - wait for it - my 8 am Monday class.

Ew.
