Days 30-32: Again, Lacking in Creativity

Friday:
So, I'm super glad that my internet decided to cut out just as I was finishing up this weekend's blog. What does that mean? Well, first I get to complain quite a bit, rant a little, vent some more. Okay, good, glad I got that out of my system. Now, I get to rewrite the whole dang thing. Seriously... kind of an obnoxious move, Internet. Ugh. So, Friday. Well, after waking up to the melodious cadence of a fire alarm far too early in the morning (and by melodious cadence I mean heinous screeching), the whole of the house stumbled downstairs, pajama-clad, to congregate outside the house in dazed, sleepy confusion. After standing there in somewhat of a half-conscious stupor, we were told that it was just a mistake and that we could all go right back in. Awesome. Just how I wanted to start my day... not. So I just went back to sleep instead, woke up at 1:30 like a true college kid, made some toast for myself and hit up the gym. Woohoo. Working out. Yeah... After the gym a few of us watched the first half of Across the Universe while dining on house-made Mexican food (gotta love how we're all obsessed with that), and then proceeded to go find this Alice in Wonderland-style bar. Scratch and Sniff wallpaper, flamingos on the ceiling, drinks out of jam jars- that kind of thing. It was somewhat of an epic journey, and yet... failed. Why? Because it was 21 and older. Awesome, glad we're back in the States for a night... After grabbing some food to sustain our munchiness, we met up with other members of the group at another bar, and then headed home after talking with some people from UNC. Gotta love how we always meet the Americans. It's like we have some creepy inward call that draws us to one another... Who knows? But what I do know is that it's time to meet for Brits!

Saturday:
Slept in once again, although not half as late. I started the day with a nice lunch out to my favorite asian food place, Oriental Canteen, then came back and made my train reservations to go to Scotland and see my beauteous friend, Emily! So excited about this. After such, I headed to the gym again (go me!), came back and finished Across the Universe with the group, then went out earlier than normal to our gay and lesbian-friendly pub, The Black Cap in Camdon Town. I love that place. After an absolutely delicious dinner of fish and chips while watching X-Factor on the pub television, we wandered around Camdon a bit before heading home and chilling in the park. It was a lovely evening on conversation and laziness, which is totally fine by me. I like a quiet night here and there.

Sunday:
Woke up at 9:45 and decided that such a decent hour really was quite indecent, so I went back to sleep until noon and was then told that a large group of us was hitting up Camdon Town again. Why not? It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Seriously, Malibu weather today, so why not take full advantage of it? We wandered around Camdon for a couple hours, checking out all the boutiques and shops and food places. Seriously, I could keep going back there again and again and never get bored, because there are so many places. It just winds around and around and you discover new shops each visit. And, the river was gorgeous today, especially as we walked over the bridge that overlooks the canals- it was such a fantastic little outing. On our way back, a few of us grabbed crepes (ever so healthy of us), then made it back to the house. I split from the group while they went to go watch Mad Men and made friends with the gym for a good 2 hours in preparation for no gym time for then ext 5 days. I'm kind of proud of myself. After the gym found my finishing off the rest of my food that won't stay nice while I'm gone in Greece, then packing for the trip and then off to sleep much earlier than normal. 4:15 wake-up call tomorrow. Ooh, that's going to be harsh...
